Reserving parking in Antwerp

How to apply
Apply for a temporary parking ban online only, on the City of Antwerp website (application for a temporary parking ban with parking signs). The city puts up and collects the signs itself; you are no longer allowed to put up your own. If you are moving within Antwerp, also apply for a parking ban at your new address.
| When to apply | Standard: at least 5 working days in advance; urgent procedure: 2 working days in advance (before 9 am) at a higher price. |
| Cost | Standard: fixed fee €33 + €4 per parking space (6 m) per day, variable part minimum €32, so minimum €65. Urgent: fixed fee €100, minimum €132. The price includes placing, collecting and renting the signs. Check the current rates on the city’s website. |
| Who places the signs? | The city |
| Limits and furniture lift | Price per 6 m parking space per day. A removal van with a ladder lift usually needs about 12-18 m. If missing information is not provided within 3 calendar days, the application may be refused (the admin fee is not refunded). |
| Contact | Via the city’s application page; information also at https://www.politieantwerpen.be/e-loket/parkeerverbod |
You always apply to the municipality yourself, not the mover: then mention the length you have reserved in your message.

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 5 working days ahead. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ
How much does a move cost?
The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.
Do I need a parking permit?
Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 5 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.
Do the movers speak English?
Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
