How to apply

Any occupation of the public domain, including for a move, needs authorisation from the City of Arlon’s municipal executive (Collège communal); you apply to the city administration (police order), with a copy to the police zone. The city rents out signs, but transport is not included, so you collect and put up the signs yourself.

When to apply15 days before an occupation other than events (Arlon police zone); the general police regulation sets a default of one calendar month: ask the municipality for the exact deadline.
Cost2026-2032 regulations (council of 16/10/2025): temporary occupation of the public domain €0.50/m²/day for the first 15 days, €1.50 from day 16 to 30, €2.00 thereafter; due for a move or furniture delivery lasting more than one day. Signage rental: €4/item/day, transport not included; lost or damaged equipment charged at replacement value.
Who places the signs? You (or your mover)

How it works

  1. 1
    Describe your move, once

Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.

  2. 2
    Confirm your e-mail

One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.

  3. 3
One verified mover receives your request

They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.

  4. 4
You receive their quote through Movzo

They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.

  5. 5
You deal directly with the mover

Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.

How much does a move cost?

The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.

Do I need a parking permit?

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 15 days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.

Do the movers speak English?

Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
