Reserving parking in Asse

How to apply
Apply online for use of public space via the municipality’s application module (spotbooking). If you only take up parking spaces, you can apply yourself as a private individual. The permit is only issued after payment. With the permit, you collect the no-parking signs at the Werkliedencentrale (municipal works depot) and put them up yourself.
| When to apply | Without obstruction (parking spaces only, or at least 1.5 m of pavement left free): at least 5 working days before the start date. With obstruction: at least 20 working days ahead. The signs must be up at least 48 hours before the start date, showing the exact period. |
| Cost | €0.39 per m² per day; double rate when paid parking spaces are taken or the road is fully closed to through traffic. Minimum €7.72 per day per application. You pay for the full day, even if you only use the space for a few hours. Ask the municipality about any cost or deposit for borrowing the signs. |
| Who places the signs? | You (or your mover) |
| Limits and furniture lift | At least 1.5 m of pavement must stay free to count as ‘without obstruction’. Closing a street or a major traffic impact needs approval from the municipal executive (college of mayor and aldermen) and written notice to local residents. Occupations of more than 1 day along the regional roads N9, N285 and N47 also need a permit from the Agency for Roads and Traffic (Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer). For a furniture or ladder lift, ask the municipality about the rules. |

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 5 working days ahead. See how it works

- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.
