Reserving parking in Grimbergen

How to apply
Apply online for a parking ban using the ‘parkeerplaats reserveren’ form on the municipal website. You can have the municipality place the no-parking signs: the technical service puts them up two days in advance and collects them afterwards. Approved applications are automatically added to GIPOD.
| When to apply | At least 10 working days ahead (standard application). Fast-track applications (4 to under 10 working days) and urgent applications (within 3 working days) cost more. The signs must be up 48 hours in advance to be legally valid. |
| Cost | Hire of no-parking signs from the municipality: placing and removal €30.00 (standard) / €60.00 (fast-track) / €100.00 (urgent) + €5.00 per day of sign hire (days of placing and removal not counted) + €2.00 extra per day for more than 8 signs; extension + €15.00. Rates are index-linked every 1 January. Ask the municipality whether the €40.00 administrative fee (for occupations ‘for works’) also applies to a house move. |
| Who places the signs? | The city |
| Limits and furniture lift | One separate application per activity. Ask the municipality about the maximum duration, the number of metres and the rules for a furniture or ladder lift. |
| Contact | Municipality of Grimbergen (Permits / public domain department), Prinsenstraat 3, 1850 Grimbergen - [email protected] - 02 260 12 11 (reception) |
You always apply to the municipality yourself, not the mover: then mention the length you have reserved in your message.

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 10 working days ahead. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ
How much does a move cost?
The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.
Do I need a parking permit?
Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 10 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.
Do the movers speak English?
Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
