Reserving parking in Rixensart

How to apply
To reserve space in front of your home for a move, you need an order from the mayor. You apply for occupation of the public road through the municipality’s online desk (e-guichet), a new platform since January 2026. The Mobility department answers questions by e-mail or phone. If the space in front of your house is free anyway, the order is not mandatory.
| When to apply | At least 10 days before the planned date (moves, works); 5 days for a container without temporary parking measures. Late requests are not regularised. |
| Cost | Municipal tax of €50 if a mayor’s order or temporary police ordinance is issued. From the 10th day of occupation: fee of €4.25 per m² occupied per day. |
| Who places the signs? | Ask the municipality |
| Limits and furniture lift | Who places the signs: check with the municipality. The police may remove any object placed without authorisation, at the offender’s expense. |

You always apply to the municipality yourself, not the mover: then mention the length you have reserved in your message.

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 10 days ahead. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

How much does a move cost?
The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 10 days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.
Do the movers speak English?
Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
