Reserving parking in Ypres

How to apply
Private individuals rent no-parking signs at the Public Domain desk (Rijselsepoort 4), without booking. The city makes sure the date, reason and location are on the signs; you transport and put them up yourself.
| When to apply | You rent the signs at the desk without booking; put them up at least 24 hours in advance (preferably 48 hours). |
| Cost | €15.00 rental for the signs. |
| Who places the signs? | You (or your mover) |
| Limits and furniture lift | Max. 2 signs; keep the parking space free for max. 24 hours; return the signs within 1 week. Private individuals only. A furniture lift or other occupation needs a public-domain use permit: ask the city. |
| Contact | Public Domain (Openbaar Domein), Rijselsepoort 4, 8900 Ieper - 057 239 517 - [email protected] |
You always apply to the municipality yourself, not the mover: then mention the length you have reserved in your message.

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, from a few days to more than a month ahead, depending on the municipality. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ
How much does a move cost?
The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.
Do I need a parking permit?
Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, from a few days to more than a month ahead, depending on the municipality. You apply yourself, not the mover.
Do the movers speak English?
Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
