How to apply

Apply online for a temporary parking ban (occupation of the public domain) via EagleBe, with a plan showing the dimensions; you can also apply at the desk by appointment. Once approved you get a payment request, and after payment the permit by e-mail. The city does not lend signs: you rent them from a private signage company and put them up yourself at least 24 hours in advance.

CostFirst day free, except in paid zones (€0.40/m²/day, minimum €65). From day 2: €0.40/m²/day, minimum €65. Urgent parking ban: + €50; closing the carriageway: + €100 the first day and + €25/day after that. Signs must be rented from a private company.
Who places the signs? You rent the signs from a supplier
Limits and furniture liftParking ban only on official parking spaces. Extend no later than 3 working days before the end date. A furniture lift outside parking spaces = occupation of the public domain (no later than 10 working days in advance).

You always apply to the municipality yourself, not the mover: then mention the length you have reserved in your message.

How it works

  1. 1
    Describe your move, once

Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.

  2. 2
    Confirm your e-mail

One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.

  3. 3
One verified mover receives your request

They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.

  4. 4
You receive their quote through Movzo

They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.

  5. 5
You deal directly with the mover

Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.

  • Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
  • Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
  • Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ

How much does a move cost?

The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.

Do I need a parking permit?

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 5 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.

Do the movers speak English?

Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
