Parking permit

Reserving parking in Aalst

Parking on moving day

How to apply

Apply online for a public-domain occupation permit for a ‘move and short delivery’ via the e-counter (Eaglebe). If you only reserve parking spaces, no signage plan is needed; if there is traffic disruption, the city asks for a signage plan. You provide the signs yourself (rent them from a private company), put them up and remove them straight after the move.

When to applyAt least 7 calendar days in advance
CostFree (moves and short deliveries are exempt from the tax). Sign rental: your own cost with a private company.
Who places the signs? You (or your mover)
Limits and furniture liftThe permit is valid for one day. An extra permit is needed in car-free areas; weight restriction for lorries in the centre during rush hours; on a regional road (more than 24 hours), a separate application to AWV (Roads and Traffic Agency). A furniture lift is covered by the same permit. Cancellation possible up to one day before the start.

How it works

  1. 1
    Describe your move, once

Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.

  2. 2
    Confirm your e-mail

One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.

  3. 3
One verified mover receives your request

They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.

  4. 4
You receive their quote through Movzo

They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.

  5. 5
You deal directly with the mover

Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.

  • Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ

How much does a move cost?

The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.

Do I need a parking permit?

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 7 days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.

Do the movers speak English?

Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
