Reserving parking in Mouscron

How to apply
Any occupation of public space, including a move, needs authorisation from the Municipal Executive (Collège communal). Fill in the ‘Demande d’occupation du domaine public’ form (box 1, tick ‘déménagement’) with a site plan and send it to the Road Management / Public Space Occupation department (GDV/ODP). You place the signs yourself; private individuals can rent them from the municipal workshops.
| When to apply | At least 8 working days before the occupation date (if submitted before noon, that day counts; after noon, the period starts the next day). Late requests may be refused or postponed. |
| Cost | Fee: €1.00 per m² per day (indexed), with one parking space counted as a flat 12 m²; invoiced afterwards. Rates under the regulation of 7 October 2019 (fiscal years 2020-2025); check the 2026 rate with the municipality. Sign rental from the municipal workshops: prices on request (056 860 500). |
| Who places the signs? | You (or your mover) |
| Limits and furniture lift | Site plan mandatory; vehicles over 3.5 t need an exemption. Keep the permit (or a copy) on site. Sign rental only for private individuals, subject to stock. The person responsible for the signs must be reachable 24/7. |
| Contact | GDV/ODP department (road management – public domain occupation), rue de Courtrai 63, 7700 Mouscron; 056 860 237 / 056 860 249; [email protected]; municipal workshops (sign rental), rue du Plavitout 172, 056 860 500 |
You always apply to the municipality yourself, not the mover: then mention the length you have reserved in your message.

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 8 working days ahead. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 8 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.
Do the movers speak English?
Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
