How to apply

Apply online via the Eaglebe platform (with or without an account); an interactive terminal is available in the town hall lobby. You receive a mayor’s police order by e-mail. You can borrow E1 signs from the Public Works service against a deposit, and you place them yourself.

When to applyAt least 10 working days before the occupation; an urgent request is possible up to 5 working days before, but may not be processed. E1 signs must be put up at least 48 hours before.
CostNo administration fee; moves are exempt from the occupation fee (€0.50/m²/day for other occupations). Deposit of €80 per borrowed E1 sign (usually 2 signs: start and end of the zone).
Who places the signs? You (or your mover)
Limits and furniture liftReturn the signs to the Public Works service (chemin St Landry 20) within 48 hours after the end. When you put them up, immediately send the police (Haute Senne zone) a record with the date, time and number plates of parked vehicles. Extensions must be requested no later than the working day before expiry. Containers: same procedure, fee due.
ContactMobility / public domain department: [email protected] – 067/34 73 72 (Mon-Fri 9 am–noon, 1.30 pm–4 pm); police: [email protected]

How it works

  1. 1
    Describe your move, once

Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.

  2. 2
    Confirm your e-mail

One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.

  3. 3
One verified mover receives your request

They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.

  4. 4
You receive their quote through Movzo

They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.

  5. 5
You deal directly with the mover

Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.

Good to know

Before you move

  • Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 10 working days ahead. See how it works
  • Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
  • Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
  • Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ

How much does a move cost?

The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.

Do I need a parking permit?

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 10 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.

Do the movers speak English?

Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
