How to apply

Since 1 January 2025, Tielt and Meulebeke have merged into the town of Tielt. A move on the public road needs a signage permit (use of public space). You can only apply online through the town’s application form. Tell your neighbours at least 7 days in advance.

When to applyAt least 5 working days in advance for a small occupation (no diversion); at least 15 working days in advance for a large occupation (with diversion).
Cost€12 per day for an occupation under 20 m²; €24 per day for an occupation over 20 m² or with a diversion. Pay online or in cash at the counter after approval. Ask the town about the cost and loan of no-parking signs.
Who places the signs?Ask the municipality
Limits and furniture liftShow the permit if the police carry out a check, and keep a safe route for pedestrians and cyclists. Ask the town who places the signs and which rules apply to furniture or ladder lifts.

How it works

  1. 1
    Describe your move, once

Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.

  2. 2
    Confirm your e-mail

One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.

  3. 3
One verified mover receives your request

They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.

  4. 4
You receive their quote through Movzo

They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.

  5. 5
You deal directly with the mover

Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.

Good to know

Before you move

  • Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 5 working days ahead. See how it works
  • Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
  • Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
  • Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ

How much does a move cost?

The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.

Do I need a parking permit?

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 5 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.

Do the movers speak English?

Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
