Reserving parking in Deinze

How to apply
Apply for a (signage) permit to occupy public space through the city’s online application desk; if that does not work, book an appointment. With your permit you can borrow no-parking signs from the Technical Works Department (by appointment). You place the signs yourself at least 24 hours in advance; the city can deliver them for a fee.
| When to apply | At least 3 working days in advance for an occupation that does not obstruct pedestrians, cyclists or traffic (urgent procedure possible for a €20 administration fee). At least 10 working days in advance if it does cause obstruction (otherwise €200 extra; applications within 5 working days are not processed). The day of application and the day of the occupation are not counted. |
| Cost | Occupation for a move: €1.00/m²/day in streets with paid parking/blue zone, €0.50/m²/day in other streets; marked parking spaces count in full (12 m²). Closure or traffic diversion: an extra €100/day. Every started day counts as a full day. Borrowing signage: traffic sign €1.50/item/day, traffic cone €1/item/day, crowd barrier €4/item/day (paid in cash when returned); delivery by the city (vehicle with driver) €50 per hour. 2026 rates, indexed every year from 2027. |
| Who places the signs? | You (or your mover) |
| Limits and furniture lift | A 1.5 m clear passage on the pavement must always be kept. A furniture lift counts as a ‘moving activity’ (same rate). The permit must be kept at the moving address. Occupation without a permit or beyond the permit: rate +50%. |

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 3 working days ahead. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ
How much does a move cost?
The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.
Do I need a parking permit?
Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 3 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.
Do the movers speak English?
Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
