Reserving parking in Waterloo

How to apply
Fill in the ‘Demande d’autorisation d’occupation privative de la voie publique’ form and submit it to the municipal Revenue department (Recette) in person with your ID card and a site sketch, or by e-mail. The police give a technical opinion. Once authorised, you pay a deposit, collect the no-parking signs (E3) at the municipal depot and place them yourself 24 hours in advance, then send a photo of the parked vehicles to the police.
| When to apply | At least 8 working days before the planned date; signs must be placed 24 hours in advance. |
| Cost | Worksite fee €0.60/m²/day; container €25/day. Deposit for the signs (ask the municipality for the amount), refunded after return. |
| Who places the signs? | You (or your mover) |
| Limits and furniture lift | Signs are only lent to private individuals; incomplete files are not processed. The same request covers moves, furniture lifts, deliveries and containers. Ask the municipality about the maximum duration and length. |
| Contact | Revenue department (Recette), rue François Libert 28 (1st floor), 1410 Waterloo - 02 352 99 70 / 02 352 99 71 - [email protected]; municipal depot, drève des Dix Mètres 191 - 02 354 38 79; photos: [email protected] |
You always apply to the municipality yourself, not the mover: then mention the length you have reserved in your message.

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 8 working days ahead. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.

FAQ
How much does a move cost?
The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.
Do I need a parking permit?
Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 8 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.
Do the movers speak English?
Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
