How to apply

Apply for a permit to occupy public space, preferably online through the city’s Eaglebe form. As a private individual you can tick the no-parking sign service when applying: city staff place and collect the signs. If applying online does not work, go to the Infopunt at the town hall or book an appointment with the Mobility department.

When to applyAt least 5 working days in advance for a small occupation with little disruption (e.g. parking ban, removal van). At least 10 working days in advance for an occupation with a large impact (e.g. works zone or street closure).
CostAdministration fee: €10 per occupation. Occupation: €0.30 per m² per day, minimum €4 per permit; the first 2 days are free, but if the permit runs longer than 2 days the whole period is charged. No-parking sign service for private individuals: flat fee of €50 per permit (placed and collected by the city).

How it works

  1. 1
    Describe your move, once

Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.

  2. 2
    Confirm your e-mail

One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.

  3. 3
One verified mover receives your request

They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.

  4. 4
You receive their quote through Movzo

They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.

  5. 5
You deal directly with the mover

Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.

FAQ

How much does a move cost?

The price depends on volume, floors, access, distance and options. A verified mover sends you their quote through Movzo, free of charge. For orders of magnitude, see our example prices.

Do I need a parking permit?

Usually yes: you reserve the space in front of your building with the municipality, at least 5 working days ahead. You apply yourself, not the mover.

Do the movers speak English?

Many do, especially in Brussels. Write “English please” in your message; you can also say so in the chat.
