Reserving parking in Mons

How to apply
In Mons you need a police order: send the occupation form to the Public Space Management service of the Mons-Quévy police zone (e-mail, phone or in person). Private individuals can have the city put up the signs (tick the box ‘par les soins de la Ville de Mons’, then e-mail [email protected] and pay). Otherwise use a sign rental company.
| When to apply | At least 15 working days between the request and the start. Sign placement by the city: request within 48 h of the police-order request, proof of payment 5 days before; signs placed 48 working hours beforehand. |
| Cost | E1 sign placement by the city: €80.10 (admin, placing, loan, removal, transport). Occupation fee: €0.50/m²/day, maximum €75/day, flat minimum €20 (and flat €20 if the occupation lasts 12 h or less); street closure €1/m²/day, max €125/day. |
| Who places the signs? | The municipality |
| Limits and furniture lift | City placement only for private individuals (owner/tenant of a property in Mons): 20 metres and 48 hours maximum, no extension; beyond that, use a specialised company. Lifts, hoists, trailers and containers must be declared on the form; regional road (SPW): SPW approval and signage plan required. |

How it works
- 1Describe your move, once
Route, floors, furniture, options and, if you like, up to 15 photos (rooms and access): about 3 minutes.
- 2Confirm your e-mail
One click on the link we e-mail you confirms your request. It is checked, then passed to a mover.
- 3One verified mover receives your request
They have 2 hours to accept it (counted between 8 am and 9 pm). A request confirmed between 9 pm and 8 am is passed to a mover from 8 am. If they decline or do not reply, your request goes to the next mover.
- 4You receive their quote through Movzo
They send it within 5 hours (same hours). You accept or decline it; if it does not suit you, you can ask once for another mover.
- 5You deal directly with the mover
Quote accepted: you receive their contact details and they receive yours. You agree and pay directly with them, then you leave a review after the move.
Before you move
- Parking permit: reserve the space with the municipality, at least 15 working days ahead. See how it works
- Furniture lift: from the 2nd floor without a lift, it often saves a lot of time.
- Register your address with your new municipality within 8 working days; a local police officer will visit to confirm.
- Dates: the end of the month and summer are busy. Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead.
